We Are the Street We Forgot

Fantastic walk with Iva Ivanova

“We Are the Street We Forgot” is a fantastic walk through urban spaces where memory, expectation, and longing exist as invisible layers within the body of the city.

In this organized but organic walk, participants encounter a utopian notion of nostalgia: as an emotional landscape of the unfulfilled, of absence and of transience. The project explores how architecture and the urban environment preserve personal and collective memories – of encounters, separations, farewells and hopes. Places devoid of intimacy in hectic everyday life are transformed through the gaze of love, sadness and imagination. Our final stop becomes a place where the intimate and the public meet. An abstraction that we try to capture in a very concrete way.

Ivanova is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of costume design and painting. Her work is deeply connected to the exploration of personal stories and emotions as a tool for creative expression. Her practice spans theatre, film and visual arts. In 2016 I graduated in scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (AKBILD Wien) in the class of Anna Fibrock.
