Mozupki
15 July 2026, 6:00-9:00 PM
Oborishte Park, behind Sofia Theatre
Anna-Maria Ivanova and Paola Dimova invite you to join a workshop for creating mosaics that will fill broken and missing sections of sidewalks in Sofia. These mosaics are gestures of care — visible traces of someone’s time, labor and desire to make a place a little better.
The workshop will take place in front of Sfumato Theatre Workshop, where facilities and materials for creating the mosaics will be provided. Several locations in the urban environment will be identified in advance as the intended sites for the mosaics.
Visitors will work on the design and placement of the tiles according to the time they have available, with participants invited to collaborate and continue what previous contributors have started. Once the compositions have set, they will be installed in the designated locations. The final result will remain as a small but lasting intervention in the city.
Paola Dimova is a student of Art History at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. She works as an assistant at Credo Bonum gallery and has curated a series of exhibitions in Credo Box, an exhibition niche within the gallery space. Other exhibitions she has curated include Visions from Chaos at Bobbina Culture Space, Boiling Point at the Goethe-Institut and Phantasms at Figura Art Space. She is also part of the curatorial team of the exhibition Structures in Transition at the House of Humour and Satire Museum in Gabrovo.
Anna-Maria Ivanova is a student at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv (AMTII Plovdiv), studying Pedagogy of Fine Arts Education. She is actively involved in the independent art space The Gallery, where she has organised exhibitions for emerging and previously unexhibited artists and has also participated in exhibitions held there. Other participations include projects with Artists at Play and Garage (in Gabrovo), the Credo Box project at Credo Bonum Gallery, as well as Visions from Chaos at Bobbina and Phantasms at Figura Art Space.
She has also volunteered at the gallery/studio Embrace Me, which supports children without parental care by fostering their interest in education and art and contributing to their personal and professional development.
With financial support from the National Culture Fund and Sofia Municipality – Summer Programme.
