We will open this year’s Nine Elephants with an exhibition dedicated to the full and empty pools of the imagination, and Zhana Ivanova will warm us up in welcoming the ten-day programme of the festival.
Join us on July 10 at the most fantastic empty pool in the world to celebrate the opening of Nine Elephants. At Swimming Pool you will find information materials, while curator Viktoria Draganova, the team, and the artists will guide you through the festival program, featuring more than 15 events across different locations in the city.
Tonight we will also celebrate ten years since the creation of Swimming Pool with the exhibition Jump! Don’t Jump and the works of Krasimir Terziev, Andrea Popjordanova, Mihail Novakov, Yana Loseva, Nora Ampova, Altsek Mishev, Savina Topurska and Sasho Violetov.
From 7 pm, we will warm up for the ten-day festival programme that awaits us between 11 and 20 July with artist Zhana Ivanova, our special guest for the opening.

Zhanna Ivanova’s presentation is part of the project “Creating New Cultural Products in Urban Environments – Presentation in Sofia (Festival ‘Nine Elephants’) and Berlin (CSpace)”*, funded under Component 11 “Social Inclusion,” Investment 6 “Development of the Cultural and Creative Sectors,” Procedure BG-RRP-11.020, Grant Scheme “Creation of Bulgarian Productions and Co-productions in the Cultural and Creative Industries Sector and Their Promotion on European and International Art Markets”, within the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
