Busintsi Ceramics and Wild Strawberries combines cinema, local culture and traditional crafts in the village of Busintsi as part of the programme of the “Cinema in the Village” festival. The programme includes a discussion about the well-known Busintsi pottery tradition and a walk through the village, revealing the history, nature and living traditions of the region. The event continues with a dinner featuring products from local producers, including homemade wild strawberry jam, creating a space for encounters and shared experiences. The evening concludes with an open-air screening of the film Wild Strawberries.
The event encourages cultural exchange, sustainable tourism and connections between cinema, traditional crafts and the local community.

7:00 PM Meeting with the team and screening of the film “Wild Strawberries” (102 min)

You are welcome to make your own way there, but for your convenience we also offer organised transport from Sofia. Departure is at 3:00 pm from the Central Department Store (TZUM), with return transport to the same location after the event. Places are limited, so advance registration is required.

“Cinema in the Village” is an annual festival that brings contemporary Bulgarian and international cinema to some of the country’s smallest settlements. Its main mission is to build a sustainable network of “cinema villages” with regular access to cultural events and film screenings, while also training local cinema activists who can independently organise cultural life within their communities. The festival is decentralised and takes place simultaneously across different locations. In 2026 it includes 15 villages throughout the country. The programme features dozens of free film screenings, creative workshops and meetings with artists, writers, musicians and cultural practitioners.
“Businska Srachkotilnitsa” is an independent cultural and creative space in the village of Busintsi, founded with the mission of preserving local traditions, crafts and the spirit of the community. In 2026 the space becomes part of the “Cinema in the Village” network, transforming the workshop’s courtyard into a place for open-air cinema, cultural gatherings and shared experiences. Alongside the screenings, “Businska Srachkotilnitsa” also organises the “Festival of Skillful Hands”, an annual event dedicated to traditional skills, sustainable living, art and the connection with nature.
